A total of 323 animals were killed including 70 calves on Friday. However, the spokesman Knutsen says it is unusual for reindeer or other wildlife to be struck and killed by lightening; but no in such a large number.

The fact is that, during the season change, reindeer migrate across the barren of Hardanagervidda in batches. If the weather is bad, reindeer would normally be seen close to each other; hence, the possibility of this horrific ordeal.
