1. Celery


Celery is what is known as “calorie-negative food”. You actually burn calories eating celery and  has been clinically researched and proven.
This vegetable is an antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, which helps in reducing blood pressure and cholesterol level. It is also contains immune system boosting Vitamin C.


2. Beetroots

Beetroots are high in vitamin C; for immune boosting. It high in fiber and potassium for a healthy nerve and muscle function, manganese and calcium; which helps build bones, liver and kidney functions as well as the pancreases. Most of all, beetroots also contain vitamin B, folate, which helps reduce the risk of birth defects. Beetroots are powerful antioxidant, could be eaten raw, cooked, as juice, vegetable or baking. Its greens are nutrient full and very good served lightly cooked and tender.

3. Onions

Onions are high antioxidant and are best helpful to the health if eaten raw. Cooking onions depreciates the level of phytochemicals that protect against lung and kidney cancer.

4. Kales

Kale is high antioxidant vegetable, which has been researched to be highly beneficial eaten raw or lightly blanched.  When cooked, its calcium level reduces enormously. Kale can be used for smoothies or juices or as salad; a side dish. Kale consists of vital vitamins: Vitamin A,C,K,B6,B1, B2, B3, Phosphorus, Iron, Copper, Potassium, Calcium, Manganese and Magnesium; all the vital vitamins for a healthy life.

5. Broccoli


Broccoli is a high cholesterol lowering vegetable. It is from the Italian origin but has now been recognised worldwide due to its benefits to our health. Unlike other vegetables shown above, broccoli works better in our system when it is steamed. By steaming broccoli, it enables bile products to be easily excreted; therefore reducing cholesterol. This happens less when eaten raw.
Broccoli is full with 24 vitamins, good detoxifying agent and highly praised in its balancing of vitamin A and D. It is high in Vitamins K, C, chromium, folate and fiber to mention a few.
